I am currently teaching 5th grade at Morton Elementary in Marysville. I have been a teacher here for 18 years and counting. I am very excited and pleased to be chosen as a Classroom 4 the Future, grant recipient. My students are full of energy and enthusiasm and it is contagious. They inspire me and teach me on a daily basis. I want to provide them with ALL the tools I possibly can to ensure they receive a rich and rewarding education. I am somewhat of a risk taker and I am usually willing to take on a challenge for the benefit of my students. I have done this with technology, blended learning and Project Based Learning projects in the past and now I look forward to redesigning my learning space to benefit my students.
I think a redesigned learning space will inspire my students. It will provide a comfort level to operate out of the norm. It will provide me the opportunity to fully implement a teaching style that requires individual as well as group work and space that has not been afforded in the past.
Below are some current photos of my classroom.
