This process has inspired me to view my classroom as a learning environment. To look at the space through the eyes of my students. This image is the spreading virus known as the teacher's hallowed ground, or "teacher's desk" as you can see it has grown from a simple desk, to a couple of file cabinets and assorted furniture pieces. It has become a barrier that not only separates the classroom space, but tells the students that this part of the room is off limits. My goal is to get rid of it ALL. I have realized this is a waste of valuable learning space that I could give to my students. We can better utilize this space as a learning center or a gathering corner for independent work.

Top 5 Takeaways
so far......
1. Students love choice. By experimenting a little with design and function, I created some different learning spaces within my room and the kids really love it. They seem to appreciate and work better when they are allowed movement within the classroom.
2. Sometimes less is better, this process has forced me to look at the available, or unavailable space in my room. I am looking at the learning space in a totally different way now. Looking to see how I can really utilize every square inch of the room to benefit student learning.
3 .Having input from Danielle and Laura has been amazing. You really don't know what you don't know and they have really opened my eyes to the many different options for redesign.
4. I have been inspired to motivate my students by offering different learning scenarios that were not previously available. With an adaptable room that offers movement and fluidity I am able to utilize strategies like PBL and Breakout EDU sessions.
5. Team Collaboration. I am also inspired by the great team of teachers, administrators, designers and consultants that have come together as this "Classroom 4 the future" team. It has been a great experience so far to learn from and share with this diverse team of professionals.
